Christine brings over 25 years of experience in financial services to her clients. She began her career in the back office of Commonwealth Financial Network, giving her an operational perspective and edge to her work. Most important, she is fiercely independent in advocating for her clients, with an uncanny ability to listen, distill, and present clear alternatives on the spot.
Christine grew up in Massachusetts. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Pomona College, and her MBA from Boston College. She now lives in Maine with her husband and two sons. She loves to travel and has been to Europe, Africa and 40 US states, so far.
Sarah joined Back Cove Financial in 2018. Sarah was a partner and Financial Advisor at the Danforth Group of Wells Fargo Advisors for 11 years and at Smith Barney for 10 years. Her professional journey in financial services started in 1986 at Nissho Iwai UK Ltd in London. She has also held positions in UNUM's Retirement Security Division and Prudential Securities. Sarah obtained her Certified Financial Planner® professional certificate in 2006. Sarah is an accomplished financial educator and has served as a CFP Board Ambassador for Maine and as a financial contributor to WCSH 6 TV.
As a teenager, Sarah experienced a family crisis that created financial security challenges. The lessons learned have shaped her life, career and fostered a commitment to financial literacy and to give back to programs that improve the economic health of families and communities. Sarah is appointed by the Governor of Maine to serve as the Chair of the Advisory Council of New Ventures Maine. In 2013 Sarah completed the London marathon and has completed full Ironman competitions in 2014 and 2016. Sarah loves to visit her hometown of London to see her British Premier League soccer team Arsenal!
Jack began his investment career in 1994 with Legg Mason. He went on to form the Danforth Group which later became part of Wells Fargo Advisors where he served as Senior Vice President. Jack has earned the designation of Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) through the Center for Fiduciary Studies, and Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®) through the College for Financial Planning.
Over the past 25 years, Jack has demonstrated a disciplined and prudent investment process and believes all clients deserve a fiduciary standard of care. “The best part of being a Financial Advisor has been getting to know clients and their families, while having a positive impact on their lives.”
In addition to working with individual clients, Jack has extensive experience working with qualified retirement plan sponsors and participants around all facets of plan management including but not limited to Participant Education, ERISA Section 404(c) compliance, Investment Policy Management, fee benchmarking and vendor search.
Jack and his wife Jennifer are empty nesters living year-round on Sebago Lake and enjoy spending their time with their two sons and their dog Bruschi.
Sophie began working with Jack Zinn and Sarah Halpin at the Danforth Group of Wells Fargo Advisors in 2018. Prior to this, she worked in non-profit communications and development, helping local environmental groups in South Carolina and Maine gain the media attention, donors, and effective messaging to further their goals. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 2014.
Sophie looks forward to combining her passion for helping people with her interest in socially responsible investing. She also hopes to educate other young people on key financial topics and support the next generation of investors.
Away from the office, Sophie enjoys hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and swimming.
Joel joined Back Cove Financial in 2018 after working in business development for a local retail brand. Joel has also worked in international education. He had roles in both compliance and in coordinating teach-abroad programs in Spain and the Dominican Republic. After attending the University of Denver, he spent a year teaching English in France.
Joel volunteers as a member of South Portland’s Economic Development Committee. He lives in South Portland with his wife and daughter. He is an avid classical guitar player and runner.
Jolene is a true lynchpin for Back Cove Financial. When on the phone with our clients, she can draw upon her 25+ years of operational investment and insurance experience to solve unusual problems.
Jolene is married and has one daughter. She and her husband Mark are animal lovers: their cat, Pumpkin, dog, Shep, and canary, Bhaer, bring immense joy and love to their household. Fun fact: Jolene grew up in upstate New York and is a lifelong Yankees fan working for a loyal member of Red Sox Nation!
Mary Beth came to Back Cove Financial in 2008. Hers is the friendly voice you hear when you call our offices. Mary Beth’s work ethic and diligence are exemplary, and she is an invaluable resource for our clients and our team.
When Mary Beth is not running our office, she is running her home as a wife to Jim and mother to Maggie and Bridget. In her spare time, Mary Beth likes to run with the family dog, Olive, work out with kettle bells, and continue improving her sewing skills.
